For reasons related to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2020 N-EXPO / GWPE will take place in Osaka for the first time in nine years.
This event began in Osaka in 1995 as the Waste Disposal Exhibition. The name was later changed to the New Environmental Exposition, and was held in Osaka for 17 consecutive years through to 2011.
Today, it is high time to put environmental technologies into practice in the effort to solve the many environmental issues we are facing, from the adverse effects of global warming such as record-breaking rainfalls, snowfalls and heat waves, to the efforts towards achieving energy transition on a global level resulting from the Paris Agreement and the effects of Chinese restrictions to the import of waste materials on the circulation of resources.
In recent years, there are growing expectations of increased work efficiency, solutions to labor shortages and the spread of clean energies through the fusion of AI and IoT technologies.
2020 will be the year of the Tokyo Olympics and will mark ten years until the 2030 target for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. In such an important year, the N-EXPO / GWPE will propose new environmental technologies to visitors mainly from western Japan and other Asian countries and hopes to play a role in finding solutions to the environmental issues we are facing, in expanding environmental businesses and in stimulating the regional economy.
We hope exhibitors will be as enthusiastic as we are about this
excellent opportunity to develop markets not only in the Kansai area
but also all over western Japan and indeed the entire country.
